SMC4 calls on telecommunications industry to embrace social media integration

SMC4, the world’s first social media content management tool, highlights that breakthrough technology within the telecommunications sector removes the fear of using social media integration with Unified Communications (UC) propositions.

Unified Communications has revolutionised the telecommunications industry, enabling slicker customer service and response time. The advent of social media has represented the most drastic change in communications for many organisations since email was established. However, many within the telecommunications sector have been reluctant to embrace social media due to the fear of damage to a company’s brand or reputation.

Michael Veenswyk, CEO, SMC4 said: “The telecommunications industry was at the forefront of adopting UC. However, how can communications really be unified if they do not include something as significant and impactful as social media? Companies fear they lack control when it comes to what is being said via social media in the form of criticism. It’s for this very reason that we created SMC4, which enables brand to capture, control, and communicate compliantly on social media channels”

SMC4 can work within a UC environment or as a standalone product, and enables companies to capture messages from the likes of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus. It allows them to control outgoing and incoming posts, tweets and feeds, communicate these to existing and potential customers and ensure what is being said complies with company ethics. Its API also is functional and flexible enough for any project, no matter how large or small.

SMC4 is already being used by forward thinkers within the industry. Vmaack, the market leading supplier of off-premise, virtualised & cloud based IT, telephony and mobile technologies, now offers social media strategy, capture and compliance, through SMC4, as part of its consultative and delivery portfolio.

Michael Veenswyk continued; “The ubiquity of social media naturally brings risk to organisations, especially those in the telecommunications sector. However, reducing this risk boils down to the ability to capture, control and retain the information flowing in and out of a company’s social channels. It sounds daunting, SMC4 has been designed to manage these very processes. Social Media cannot be ignored and it’s those firms within telecommunications that get to grips with it, in a compliant fashion, which will reap the benefits. Only by embracing social will communications properly be unified.”
