BELLINGHAM, Wash., Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Cobalt Mortgage, one of the largest privately-owned residential mortgage lenders in the country, is pleased to announce the opening of its new Bellingham branch at 2915 Newmarket Street, east of I-5.

The Bellingham facility is Cobalt Mortgage's 19th office in Washington State, and demonstrates the company's well-established reputation as a leading lender in the Northwest. The firm now operates more than 50 offices across the western U.S., and plans to continue its expansion eastward during the next several years to make its products more broadly available.

With more than 10 years of mortgage industry experience, Bellingham Branch Manager Scott Ask is using his business ties within the greater Bellingham community to build a team of experienced loan officers at the new facility. "Being a lifelong Washingtonian, I know that it's the people who make this area such a great place to live. I'm excited about hiring a team of local experts to bring Cobalt Mortgage's broad selection of loan offerings to homeowners in Whatcom, Skagit, and Island counties," said Ask. "Thanks to our in-house processing and reputation for unparalleled customer service, we're ideally positioned to help local buyers realize their homeownership dreams."

Brady Yeager, Area Manager for Cobalt Mortgage, said, "Scott is uniquely qualified to lead our lenders in this new location. One of his biggest assets is his genuine passion for building relationships with homebuyers and understanding that each borrower has unique lending needs."

"This office is an important addition to our already-strong presence in the Northwest," said Cobalt Mortgage National Sales Executive, Dave Bochsler. "It allows us to avail our products and services to a previously untapped territory, while helping contribute to local job growth. We're proud to be a part of the greater Bellingham community."
