China Export Leading Index to Come Out Soon

BEIJING, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRnewswire/ -- The WTO predicts that global trade volume will grow by 4.5% in 2013, obviously below the average 6% for the 10 years before the financial crisis. The risk of a global trade downturn amid economic depression reveals a faint prospect for growth in external demand. China Customs indicates that it will launch the foreign-oriented release of the China's Export Leading Index this year, besides the usual Customs Statistics News (8 tables as annexed below), in order to enhance its statistical analysis and trade situational judgment, monitoring and warning.

The "China Export Leading Index," comprising 10 sub-indicators, is used for research and judgment of the nationwide export trend for future 2-3 months. China Customs has selected from 255,000 export firms and 2,000 representative exporters nationwide and collected their export-import dynamic information. In the leading index, three micro sub-indicators of "New Export Order Index," "Export Manager Confidence Index" and "Export Enterprise Comprehensive Cost Change Index" are designed to remedy the "comprehensiveness without specialty" pertaining to former macro indicators, thus ensuring the scientific effectiveness of the leading index.

For now, compared with previous domestic macro-economic indexes, the upcoming "China Export Leading Index" can serve both as a basis for government macroeconomic control and as a reference for enterprise strategic adjustment.

The changes in business operation modes have brought the emergence of new trading patterns, such as the e-commerce models of B2B and B2C, so as to demonstrate a growing influence of Internet-based information.

On June 9, China Customs Minister YU Guangzhou and Vice Minister LU Peijun heard the Special Report on ETCN Development at the General Office of the General Administration of Customs, awarding their recognition to ETCN's progress in its hard pioneering stage and underlining the imperative for ETCN to distinguish itself in the field of customs clearance based on its further cooperation with customs authorities.

ETCN (www.e-to-china.com), a commercial website authorized by China Customs and co-sponsored by China Customs Brokers Association (CCBA) and Beijing International Technology Cooperation Center (BITCC), has been authorized to release the English version of monthly statistics news from China Customs synchronously and also will soon obtain an exclusive cooperation opportunity with respect to the upcoming "China Export Leading Index."

Nowadays, in an increasingly complicated environment for China's export trade, ETCN, the officially supported Internet-based customs-clearance platform, is enabled to simultaneously assume the foreign-oriented disseminations of China's export leading index, customs statistics news, statistical analyses, and customs monitoring and warning information, hence it will definitely be the focus of attention by worldwide exporters and importers.
