TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) will present the 10th Annual Corporate Counsel Symposium (CCS) on September 18-20 at the Swissotel in Chicago, Illinois. The CCS is highly regarded as a premier legal conference dedicated to the needs of outside defense counsel and in-house corporate counsel.
This year's blockbuster program is designed to teach outside counsel and in-house counsel how to lead a corporation through a legal crisis.
The 2013 CCS will feature riveting panels addressing, among other things, the Penn State and Livestrong crises. Among the notable speakers will be Dan McGinn, spokesman for the Paterno Family, and Katherine McLane, Vice-President for Communications and External Affairs at the LIVESTRONG Foundation.
The Keynote Speaker will be Bill Courtney, the inspiration behind Undefeated, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2012. Undefeated chronicles how Coach Courtney turned around the Manassas Tigers' 2009 football season. Bill will bring life lessons on leadership, volunteerism, and service to those attending the CCS. He will also demonstrate to the audience how to turn crisis into success.
The current President of the FDCC is Timothy Pratt, Executive Vice-President, Secretary, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of Boston Scientific Corporation. According to Pratt, "I find the CCS to be one of the best in teaching practical skills to in-house counsel. The topics are timely, the presenters are excellent, and the opportunities for networking and interactive discussions are vast. I highly recommend the CCS to any in-house counsel involved in litigation management."
The FDCC is an international organization founded in 1936 to further the principles of knowledge, justice, and fellowship. The Federation has approximately 1400 members from the United States, Puerto Rico, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
