Patrick Wells, director of GRC Programs at MEGA, will speak at the 2013 GSMI GRC Summit in Chicago Sept. 24 on how risk and compliance initiatives can help improve business performance.
His presentation, How to Navigate Risks and Maintain Compliance, will help attendees understand how strategic business goals can be achieved through proactive GRC programs.
The session will address how to:
- enable business transformation by linking GRC programs and strategic objectives
- align GRC efforts with business resources and activities to safeguard shareholder value
- reduce complexity in risk management through the aid of organizational blueprints
“Proactive GRC programs are essential in today’s business environment,” explained Wells. “By uniting GRC with business architecture and corporate objectives, companies can create added business value.”
Wells heads a committee being formed by The Open Compliance & Ethics Group (OCEG) to develop a common body of knowledge (CBK) aligned to the OCEG GRC Capability Model. This CBK will form the foundation for a training and certification program leading to a Certified GRC Enterprise Architect designation.
