TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/28/06 -- QuStream Corporation ("QuStream") (TSX VENTURE: QVC) announced today that it's wholly owned subsidiary, PESA Switching Systems, Inc. ("PESA"), has won another significant order from NEP, a major supplier of mobile trucks for distribution of HD content in sports and the entertainment industry. PESA hardware was chosen for its latest advancements in high definition video routing and award winning distributed audio routing gear. NEP's latest HD mobile unit, SS21 is scheduled to begin operations in February to produce remote HD content for major sporting events across the country. Total consideration for this contract will exceed US $1 million.
NEP has purchased a Cheetah 448 frame populated as 208X400 HD-SDI Multi-rate Router that includes 240 channels of HD to SDI downconverters. In addition, the newest mobile unit includes PESA's award winning Cheetah DRS distributed audio routing system configured as 256X512 analog audio and 320X320 AES audio. The PERC2000 control system - designed by and for mobile truck users - will be used to manage the complete system configuration and diagnostic requirements.
"Once we saw the technical benefits of the Cheetah DRS audio system and the advantages of reduced space and design flexibility, our decision to purchase PESA gear was easy." commented George Hoover, Senior Vice President of Engineering for NEP. "We needed a routing system that fit with the rigid requirements of our customers and PESA has developed that product with the Cheetah DRS Audio system. "
The 1RU DRS frame allows building blocks of 128 inputs or outputs to be placed in different locations. Using Gig-E for distribution, an input frame and output frame can be connected with one RJ-45 cable and located up to 300 feet apart to make up a 128X128 mono audio system.
"This order reflects the continuing recognition of our leading edge technology and our continuing strength in the mobile production truck market." said Frederick L. Godard, Chairman, President and CEO of QuStream. "We are excited to be an integral part of this new mobile production truck and look forward to extending our long term relationship with NEP."
