NEW DELHI, INDIA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/09/13 -- The India Association of Test Publishers (India-ATP) will host its inaugural "Achieving Fairness in Testing" conference, 20 September 2013, at Habitat World, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Professor Sanjay Govind Dhande, an acclaimed academician and administrator, is scheduled as the event's keynote speaker. India-ATP will bring together the country's foremost testing and assessment leaders, for the first time, to engage in open dialogue for discussions on how best to support India's education and government leaders to ensure fairness, integrity and equal access to honest and secure testing. Prometric, Pearson, Questionmark, MeritTrac, Wohl Communication Services and Edutech are founding conference members.
"It's an exciting and challenging time for higher education and testing in our country. Gross enrolment is rising and high-calibre jobs require quantifiable skills. The challenge we face is how to maintain quality, fairness and integrity in testing and education at a time when the design and management of these sectors must keep pace with increasing demand," said Professor Dhande.
Securing the future employment of professional careers in India -- through education and assessment -- will be the central topic for discussion during the inaugural India-ATP conference. India's testing and assessment industry supports the exam programs that afford India's students the opportunity to gain entry to prestigious educational institutions and allow licensed, certified professionals the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in highly skilled professions.
A featured panel discussion and focused breakout sessions will provide a first of its kind look at the science behind 'good' and 'fair' testing, today's trends in examination, candidate and exam security and test delivery environments, as well as a look into the future of testing and assessment in India.
"We have formed the India Association of Test Publishers to support and promote fairness and integrity in testing," said Dr. William G. Harris, CEO of ATP. "Our inaugural conference brings together testing and assessment thought leaders to discuss current trends and challenges and create a useful dialogue among industry leaders."
