NEOS Announces New Appointments to Leadership Team

NEOS GeoSolutions, Inc. today announced the appointment of three experienced oil and gas leaders to its management team. Dr. David Alumbaugh, Trevor Hicks, and Kelly Kline will strengthen NEOS’s capabilities in key technical and functional areas, helping to support the company’s growth as oil & gas operators increasingly adopt multi-measurement interpretation (MMI) methods as part of their exploration, appraisal, and development workflows.

Dr. David Alumbaugh, Principal Geoscientist – Electromagnetic Methods, will be accountable for supporting electromagnetic (EM) survey design, acquisition, data processing, and interpretation, all in the context of NEOS’s multi-measurement projects. As a technical advisor, Dr. Alumbaugh will provide subject matter expertise and quality assurance to all NEOS project delivery teams, including guidance on how to integrate and simultaneously interpret both airborne-acquired and ground-based EM data with other geophysical measurements. Dr. Alumbaugh joins NEOS from Chevron where he was a Senior Geophysical Researcher in their Energy Technology subsidiary. Dr. Alumbaugh joined Chevron from Schlumberger, where he was Project Manager for the Physics, Modeling, and Inversion Group at the EMI Technology Center. Earlier in his career, Dr. Alumbaugh was an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of California – Berkeley, an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin, a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford, and a Senior Researcher in the Geophysical Technology Department at Sandia National Laboratory. Dr. Alumbaugh holds a B.S. in Geological Sciences from San Diego State University and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Mineral Engineering from the University of California – Berkeley. Dr. Alumbaugh is the holder of 21 patents, the (co)author of 30 technical articles on EM methods in natural resource exploration, and currently serves as the President of the Bay Area Geophysical Society.

Trevor Hicks, Vice President of Software Technology, will be accountable for designing, delivering, and maintaining NEOS’s internal data management portal – the NeoSphere™ – which enables the company’s scientists and mathematicians to more efficiently process and simultaneously interpret multi-measurement geo-datasets. Trevor joins NEOS from Baker Hughes, where he was the Director of Software and Information Management. Earlier in his career, Trevor was Vice President, Software Development for GL Noble Denton, a consultancy and software provider to the oil and gas industry, and IT Strategic Transformation Manager and Houston Technology Center Manager for Schlumberger, with whom he was employed from 1991 through 2009. Trevor holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas – Austin, and an M.B.A. from Duke, graduating as a Fuqua scholar. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Professional Petroleum Data Management (PPDM) Association, a professional society that engineers pragmatic, business-driven data management standards for the E&P industry.

Kelly Kline, Director of Corporate Marketing, will be accountable for corporate branding and identity, external and internal marketing communications, and field marketing throughout the Americas. Kelly joins NEOS from Griffin Global, a full-service strategic communications agency based in Houston for whom Kelly was a Principal Partner. Earlier in her career, Kelly was the Director of Corporate Marketing Communications for ION Geophysical, where she helped lead the rebranding of the company and developed numerous, award-winning branding and product launch campaigns designed to build awareness for innovative geophysical products and services within the oil and gas sector. Kelly began her career at Magic Earth, which was subsequently acquired by Landmark Graphics (then an independent subsidiary of Halliburton). Kelly holds a B.A. in Business Management from Rice University, where she captained the school’s NCAA volleyball team.
