SHANGHAI, Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Babytree.com, the world's leading parenting portal, has been named a winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China 2013 program (TF50). With great compound growth in the past three years, Babytree joins other well-regarded Chinese companies from industries including e-commerce, online video and energy. Babytree is the only online parenting company to enter the TF50 China list since the award's inception in 2005.
"Babytree's fast growth stems from our core mission of helping parents raise healthy and happy families through peer support and our in-house resources, starting from pregnancy. For six years we have been introducing new innovations and products to better serve the needs of modern Chinese families," said Allen Huainan Wang, Babytree's co-founder and CEO.
"This award is a testament to the professionalism and impartiality of Deloitte's judging mechanism," he said. "Babytree has huge opportunities for continued growth, particularly through the development of mobile products such as 'Parent Q&A' and 'Happy Pregnancy.'"
Babytree went online in 2007 and now reaches 80 percent of all online moms in China, from pregnant women to those with pre-school (age 6) children. According to Amazon's web statistics tracking site Alexa.com, Beijing-based Babytree has 55 million unique monthly visitors, making it the world's leading parenting portal.
Members of China's "Internet Generation" (people born after 1985) are now becoming parents. Babytree is an important communication platform for these new parents, many of whom grew up without siblings and are unsure about the best way to raise this next generation.
Deloitte China said in a statement: "Despite various economic challenges in 2013, China is able to maintain a stable and rapid growth, evidenced by the strong performance of companies which participated in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China program. Meanwhile, because of the strong performance of Chinese winning companies' growth rate ranking and their sustained increase in proportion, Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China program has become an important part of Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific program…. The program is now considered as benchmark for fast-growing technology companies across the globe."
Many well-known Chinese companies, including Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba and Qihoo 360, have previously been honored on TF50 lists. This year's award ceremony was held on Sept. 12 in Shanghai.
