RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/20/13 -- On Saturday, September 21, Bulk Barn Foods Ltd., in conjunction with World Alzheimer Day, is participating in a corporate & franchisee dollar match promotion benefiting the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Visit any Bulk Barn location across Canada this Saturday, and when you donate $1, corporate office and their franchisees will each contribute $1, providing a triple dollar donation to the charity. All of the money raised stays in the local communities to assist with Alzheimer Society programs and services. The Coffee Break® fundraising program has been running at all Bulk Barn locations since September 6 and will wrap up tomorrow.
Bulk Barn has proudly supported the Alzheimer Society Coffee Break® fundraiser over the past nine years with all stores participating annually. Since Bulk Barn started participating, they have raised more than $1.3 million.
According to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, over 747,000 Canadians live with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia and that number is expected to reach well over 1 million in the next generation. Coffee Break® is the Alzheimer Society's major nationwide annual fundraiser where the money raised stays in the community to help support local programs and services. "We are very grateful to Bulk Barn, their staff and customers for their long-standing commitment to our work and for being champions in the face of this disease. As more and more people are affected by dementia, it is indeed caring supporters like Bulk Barn who will pave the way for a brighter future for all," says Mimi Lowi-Young, CEO, Alzheimer Society of Canada.
