COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Buckeye Community Health Plan introduces benefits that expand the services for new and existing members of its plan in Ohio and offer additional reward incentives for wellness healthcare participation. Beginning this month, Medicaid members in Ohio are eligible for coverage under Buckeye Community Health Plan, and both new and existing members will enjoy new benefits including all medically-necessary, Medicaid-covered prescription drugs with no copayment.
"Buckeye understands the need for members to take control of their health. Our expanded benefits help them do exactly that," Ronald Charles, M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs, Buckeye Community Health Plan, said. "Trying to incorporate healthy improvements in life can be overwhelming. Our benefits are designed to provide a clear path to a healthier life and provide services that really make a difference in the lives of Ohioans who are members of the Buckeye Community Health Plan."
This new benefit of all medically-necessary, Medicaid-covered prescription drugs with no copayment is in addition to existing plan benefits such as round-trip transportation coverage for covered services more than 30 miles away, dental services that include two periodic oral exams per year, and a respite benefit for caregivers. The respite benefit allows caregivers who give 24-hours per day care to a member enrolled in Buckeye's Care Management Program 10 hours of respite per month.
Buckeye Community Health Plan developed its expanded services to help members make healthy choices, which is an important component in any health plan. Buckeye members can participate in the expanded "Be Well!" Incentive Program. This program rewards members who take an active role in their healthcare with rewards on a pre-paid CentAccount pre-paid Mastercard (R). The more healthy choices a member makes, the more rewards they can earn.
