The Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition:
The Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition (AMIC) is a global business contest aimed at fostering entrepreneurial activity within Michigan’s burgeoning start-up community.
The competition runs in two tracks – international businesses and Michigan collegiate students – and is North America’s largest business contest, offering more than $1 million total in cash prizes and in-kind awards to later stage entrepreneurs and students. It is a collaborative effort between the New Economy Initiative of Southeast Michigan, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Quicken Loans’ Opportunity Detroit and the Business Accelerator Network for Southeast Michigan.
The Accelerate Michigan Competition now is accepting student registrations. Students with innovative ideas currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs at Michigan public or private universities or colleges for the fall 2013 semester are encouraged to submit proposals before the competitions student registration deadline on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

The student portion of the competition itself will be held on November 12 – 14, 2013 at Detroit’s historic Orchestra Hall at 3711 Woodward Ave Detroit, MI 48201.
