JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Modis, Inc., the information technology (IT) staffing business unit of MPS Group, Inc. , today announced that it has been awarded contract vendor status by the City of Richmond.

Modis won the right to fulfill positions through technical staff recruiting, contract for hire and direct placement services. The Modis offering also included a partnership with sister company Special Counsel, the customized legal workforce solutions unit of MPS Group, to fulfill the City's contract negotiations positions.

The City of Richmond sought vendors to provide technical staffing services through a variety of flexible and timely methods to continue to implement its extensive city-approved Automation Plan for 2004-2007. The plan includes numerous major technology projects in areas such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) for the 911 Emergency Communications Center, enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence reporting, emergency and disaster preparedness, and the upgrade/replacement of the city's financial systems. Examples of services required include web-based application development, project management and planning services, systems analysis and design, enterprise architecture planning, and contract management/negotiations for IT commodities and services.
