WAYLAND, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/30/13 -- On Saturday, October 5th, more than 300 runners, walkers, volunteers and corporate sponsors from across Massachusetts will participate in the first annual Pam's Run road race. The race was established to honor the memory of Wayland resident Pam Washek and to raise money for Neighbor Brigade (www.neighborbrigade.org), the fast growing non-profit she founded in 2010. To register for the run, visit www.pamsrun.com.
Among the long list of corporate and private sponsors are Circle Furniture, Joint Ventures, Leerink Swann, Lynch Landscape, Middlesex Savings Bank, Picardi Construction, Regan Septic, Village Bank and Washek Electric. AMP Radio's street team and popular MetroWest band The Daddios will be on hand to entertain and energize the crowd. T-shirts and gift bags will be given to all participants, and cash prizes and other awards will be awarded to the top finishers.
"We couldn't be more pleased with the response we've received both in terms of registered runners and sponsors coming on board to support Neighbor Brigade's mission of helping neighbors in times of temporary crisis," said Jayme Nowland, co-director for the race. "What better way to honor Pam than to hold an event that furthers her vision of creating caring and supportive local communities."
