Syapse, the leader in software for bringing omics into routine medical use, has been selected to present at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) 2013 Meeting. Syapse will present a poster titled “A Semantic Computing Platform to Enable Translational and Clinical Omics.”

At ASHG, Syapse will describe how biologists and clinicians use its data platform to implement an omics learning healthcare system. Clinical R&D can perform data mining queries, such as selecting patients who share disease and treatment characteristics, to identify associations between omics profiles and clinical outcomes. Organizations can update clinical evidence, such as variant interpretation or pharmacogenetic associations, in a knowledgebase that triggers alerts in affected patient records. At point of care, clinical decision support interfaces can present internal or external treatment guidelines based on patients’ omics profiles.
The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG)’s 63rd Annual Meeting will take place Tuesday, October 22 to Saturday, October 26 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) in Boston, Massachusetts.
