Lubbock Habitat Receives Endowment from City Bank

Funds to help update the charity's ReStore

LUBBOCK, Texas, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- City Bank has recently pledged to help finance updates for Lubbock Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. The partnership hopes to generate more funds for Lubbock Habitat to meet its mission of eliminating poverty housing.

Thanks to the support from City Bank, Lubbock Habitat for Humanity will be more able to build simple, decent, affordable housing for low to moderate income families.  "City Bank is proud to partner with Lubbock Habitat for Humanity and provide funding to make improvement and upgrades to its ReStore operations," said Cory Newsom, CEO and President of City Bank. "They play a vital role in providing necessary, affordable housing to qualifying individuals and families, and City Bank is pleased to support their efforts," he said.

Lonnie Hollingsworth, President of Lubbock Habitat said, "The ReStore plays a vital role in reaching our mission. This side of the organization accepts donations of new and gently used items to sell to the public." Hollingsworth said, "Thanks to City Bank's help, we will be able to make much needed improvements to the ReStore. We appreciate City Bank not only for their generous donation of treasure, but also the donation of key employees' time and talent,"

Located at 2910 Avenue N, the ReStore is a resource for individuals looking for materials to use when remodeling. Individuals can also donate gently used appliances and home furnishings. Construction companies have discovered that the ReStore is a great place to donate leftover building supplies. A tax receipt is issued for all donations, and all funds generated go back into Habitat's building program.
