Leef Technology LTD. (Leef) today announced an expansion to its USB 3.0 product line with Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0. As the company’s latest flash memory-based devices featuring high-speed USB 3.0 technology, Leef Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 represent the next evolution in Leef’s family of innovative, beautifully designed products.
Available in charcoal black, Leef Ice 3.0 takes the same artistic form as Leef’s Ice USB drive while providing a significant upgrade on speed. The speed comes from a new controller technology and memory that is capable of read times up to 90 MB per second. Leef Ice 3.0 is encased in anodized aluminum and uses methacrylic resin to create the crystal-like “Ice” feature. The Ice family of products, featuring angles of white light visible in the acrylic, were originally introduced in 2012 and immediately set the standard for USB flash drive design.
Available in metallic silver or charcoal black, Leef Supra 3.0 is one of the smallest USB 3.0 flash drives on the market. Slim enough to comfortably leave in any USB port for extended periods of time, Leef Supra 3.0 is designed with Leef’s signature Ice feature offering the highest level of light transparency of all acrylics. The Leef design team constructed both Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 to stand up to day-to-day wear and tear while complementing the style, form and grace of new laptops and MacBooks.
“Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 represent the best in Leef design,” said Axle Looslie, product designer at Leef. “In designing Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0, we took special care to perfect the design details that other companies repeatedly overlook, like developing black anodized USB connectors instead of settling for the traditional ugly chrome. With Leef USB 3.0 drives, users can copy, move and share data up to 10 times faster than their old USB 2.0 drives.”
Leef Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 also utilize Leef’s PrimeGrade MemoryTM, which is waterproof, shock resistant and delivers read speeds up to 90 MB/s (megabytes per second) and write speeds up to 30 MB/s. This superior memory ensures reliable, high-speed storage and gives users the ability to transfer large files or playback of video directly from Leef Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 without the interruption typical of slow memory.
Continuing the company’s pattern of rapid innovation, Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 are Leef’s third and fourth new products launched in the last four months. In July 2013, Leef formed its USB 3.0 product line with Leef Magnet 3.0, and in June 2013, the company introduced Leef Bridge, the first USB flash drive for Android phones, tablets, Macs and PCs. The company’s unique approach to design was recognized in 2012 by PC Magazine – Russian Edition, which awarded Leef Fuse “Best of the Year 2012” in the flash drive category.
Leef Ice 3.0 is available for a suggested retail price of $14.99 for the 16GB model and $25.99 for the 32GB model. The pricing for the 64GB model will be announced upon availability.
Leef Supra 3.0 is available for a suggested retail price of $13.99 for the 16GB model and $24.99 for the 32GB model. The pricing for the 64GB model will be announced upon availability.
In addition, Leef Ice 3.0 and Supra 3.0 are available for purchase at leading retailers in several international markets, including Russia, Asia, Central Europe and even Uzbekistan.
Leef Technology designs and develops flash memory-based consumer electronics products with the belief that creating better-designed products requires a willingness to take risks when other companies settle on industry norms.
