Documentary Week - Opening Night Film 'The Armstrong Lie'

Adelaide, Australia 4 March - 9 March 2014

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/29/13 -- Documentary Week Australia (DocWeek) in association with Sony Pictures is proud to present the 2014 opening night film 'The Armstrong Lie' by Oscar winning director, Alex Gibney. 'The Armstrong Lie' is an intimate and investigative inside story of cyclist Lance Armstrong. The film follows Armstrong from his success right though to the doping scandals that shook the world of cycling to a standstill.

Filmmaker Alex Gibney followed Lance Armstrong for four years with the intent of chronicling his return to cycling after his retirement from professional cycling in 2005. The filmmaker aims to document Armstrong's come back campaign and his bid to win his eighth Tour de France. Unexpectedly, Gibney was also there when Armstrong admitted to doping, which resulted in the film being retitled from "The Road Back" to "The Armstrong Lie." In this gripping film, Alex Gibney had unprecedented access to Armstrong himself, his colleagues, former teammates and the sport's top administrators. In true Gibney style the film drills down deep under the surface.

Joost den Hartog, Director of DocWeek, said, "We are thrilled to open DocWeek 2014 with Alex Gibney's film 'The Armstrong Lie'. Gibney is one of the most prolific and exciting documentary filmmakers working today and the absolute master of investigative documentary. We feel fortunate to have his film open our second DocWeek film festival ahead of its Australian release."

DocWeek is a week-long celebration of documentary film and factual television that includes a screening program of more than 40 films, pitching opportunities, interactive sessions, special events and in conversation sessions with filmmakers. The DocWeek industry conference attracts more than 500 delegates from around the world and coincides with the Documentary Film festival. It is held at various venues in Adelaide, Australia from 4th March - 9th March, 2014.

'The Armstrong Lie' will officially open the DocWeek film festival and will premiere at Palace Cinemas on Tuesday 4th March, 2014 at 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale now for the Opening Night film and are available at BASS www.bass.net.au

DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. With recent technological advances from Isomorphic Software and others, it is now feasible to create a rich desktop and tuned mobile experience with a single codebase, without compromising performance or usability.
Thanks to Docker, it becomes very easy to leverage containers to build, ship, and run any Linux application on any kind of infrastructure. Docker is particularly helpful for microservice architectures because their successful implementation relies on a fast, efficient deployment mechanism – which is precisely one of the features of Docker. Microservice architectures are therefore becoming more popular, and are increasingly seen as an interesting option even for smaller projects, instead of bein...
