Coffee, Creativity and Spice at the Science Center: 3711 Market Street Poised for Increased Activity as New Creative Café @ Replica Opens and Han Dynasty Expands

Creativity and caffeine often go hand in hand. Replica Creative is leveraging that symbiotic relationship as the firm opens the doors to the University City Science Center’s latest addition: the Creative Café @ Replica, offering graphic design and printing services, alongside Counter Culture coffee and savory treats from DiBruno Brothers. The Creative Café @ Replica is scheduled to open at 3711 Market Street in Philadelphia in early December 2013.

Established over 30 years ago as a small black-and-white copy shop with a client base consisting primarily of law firms in the Center City area, Replica Creative is now one of Philadelphia’s leading design and print shops, specializing in the design and production of internal and external business marketing materials, architectural plans, photo enlargements, T-shirts, booklets and newsletters. Additionally, Replica Creative produces custom creative wall graphics. With the Creative Café @ Replica, Replica Creative brings its state-of-the-art digital printing technology and innovative approach to design to University City.

“The Creative Café @ Replica is designed as a hub where the city’s brightest minds and most forward of thinkers can find inspiration, so what better place than the Science Center?” says Replica Creative owner Keith Leaphart. “University City is experiencing a renaissance and quickly becoming known as Philadelphia’s ‘Innovation District.’ We knew the Creative Café needed to be a part of that. Building relationships with local leaders such as the Science Center and DiBruno Brothers has been a truly significant collaboration.”

In related news, the popular University City outpost of Han Dynasty is expanding its operations at 3711 Market Street with 50 more seats. The expansion space which has a modern design includes five flat-screen TVs equipped with full presentation capabilities for business meetings and an acoustical curtain to divide the dining area in two and/or provide privacy for private events.

Since opening at the Science Center in June 2012, Han Dynasty has seen a steady stream of customers eager to savor its spicy Szechuan fare. Rated one of the top 50 Chinese restaurants in America by CNN, Han Dynasty needed more space at its University City location to meet the growing demand of customers in the University City neighborhood, says Jermaine Lindsey, General Manager of Han Dynasty University City.

"With our high volume of students, hospital employees, Science Center residents, and regular walk-ins from all around the city, the expansion at Han Dynasty University City started as a good idea but quickly became a necessity,” Lindsey explains. “In order to accommodate our diverse and high-profile demographic, we have expanded our capabilities for private events by more than double with this expansion. Our goal is to set the new standard for authentic Asian cuisine in the United States with the ability to entertain high-profile guests and their every need for private dining. University City is rapidly growing and they will be able to count on Han Dynasty University City to spice things up!"

“Our campus is in the midst of a transformation to a 24/7 community where people can live, work and play,” says Science Center President and CEO Stephen S. Tang, Ph.D., MBA. “The new Creative Café @ Replica and Han Dynasty’s expansion will give our residents and neighbors more options in the neighborhood to convene and collaborate. We’re delighted to close out our 50th anniversary year by offering our residents even more resources.”
