Zoomin.TV Becomes Largest European YouTube Network

The Amsterdam based Zoomin.TV, best known for online (news) videos has had great success with own content and formats on YouTube in the categories News, Entertainment, Music and Games; especially the last category has proven extremely popular worldwide. With over 500,000 subscribers, the YouTube channel zoomingames is the flagship of the 34 channels containing in house produced video content. Zoomin.TV produces a daily average of 400 videos in 16 languages and 27 product categories; providing over 2000 web sites with video content. Since its successful entry on the YouTube B2C platform two years ago, Zoomin.TV video content distribution has expanded to other B2C platforms such as Daily Motion, Blinkx and others.

Due to the popularity of its own channels, many other YouTube channels worldwide have chosen to partner with Zoomin.TV. As a result, Zoomin.TV has in the last 12 months been able to build a so-called Multi Channel Network (MCN), currently consisting of more than 6,000 channels. This places Zoomin.TV in the number one position in Europe and number 14 worldwide, allowing them to break through the 200,000,000 video views per month mark for the first time in October this year. The largest group of these millions of viewers – approximately 25 % - comes from America viewing English and Spanish language channels. In the UK the network counts 15 million monthly views. In order to sustain this remarkable growth, Zoomin.TV is focussing on developing opportunities not only in the English speaking markets but also in growth markets such as Latin America and Asia.

For premium content owners, traditionally supplying the TV networks, Zoomin.TV is offering a full service YouTube channel management concept including copyright protection management. For many content owners a successful launch on YouTube requires an entirely new skill set and as YouTube has started to offer VOD and SVOD models, this is a significant revenue opportunity for these rights holders.

For regular YouTube channels the main reasons to join the Zoomin.TV MCN are; the potential for growth in both views and subscribers and growth in RPM (Revenue per thousand views). This is accomplished by cross promoting channels within the MCN and Zoomin.TV booking additional advertising campaigns on its own MCN inventory alongside YouTube. In general, more and more premium content, which was previously only available through off-line television, is now becoming available on YouTube and other VOD (Video on Demand) and SVOD (Subscription based Video on Demand) platforms. With its MCN, Zoomin.TV has placed itself in the European vanguard to take advantage of the experts’ long anticipated boom in online video consumption. In addition to short form, long form content will benefit from the enormous reach of this network.
