SANTA BARBARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/03/13 -- D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, today announced its IR.92 VoLTE software has been licensed by HiSilicon Technologies Co., Ltd, a leading chipset solution provider, to enable carrier-grade Voice- and SMS-over-VoLTE capability on the HiSilicon LTE modem chipsets and application processors for mobile devices. The two companies successfully demonstrated a VoLTE call in the China Mobile Interoperability Testing Lab with the Huawei D2-6070 TD-LTE phone using D2's vPort 4G software running on the HiSilicon K3V2/Balong710 LTE chipset solution.
D2's vPort 4G software is designed to integrate directly in LTE modem ICs, making a significant advancement in the ease of integration and speed of commercialization of VoLTE-enabled mobile devices. Because vPort is integrated in the modem chipset, OEMs can quickly add optimized VoLTE capability, reusing all of 2G/3G voice and SMS functionality and thus requiring no changes to the mobile OS. vPort 4G also provides an advanced IMS API option that allows the addition of embedded RCS, IR.94 video calling and IP Wi-Fi calling capability running on the mobile application processor and integrated natively in the mobile OS for a seamless user experience.

K3V2 is a high performance application processor for smartphones and tablets. The Balong 710 wireless terminal chipset solution is the world's first chipset to support LTE Cat 4 150Mbps and 3G Dual carriers with MIMO 84Mbps in downlink, fully complying with 3GPP Release 9.
