FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/03/13 -- Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: PKT), the global Internet Intelligence company, today announced that it has received first-time orders for its PacketLogic Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) systems from two Tier 1 fixed line operators in the LATAM region, including one cable MSO and one DSL operator. Both operators will deploy systems that profile subscriber and network usage by collecting high-resolution network intelligence in-line across their entire network.
"These two wins in LATAM are indicative of the demand we are seeing in the region from triple play fixed line operators who are looking to gain a much better understanding of how subscribers are using their networks," said Jim Nachazel, vice president of Americas Sales at Procera. "Both Cable MSOs and DSL operators with large metro networks are seeing much higher usage of third party streaming video services that can impact the quality of service of their triple play subscribers. By getting more proactive on understanding and managing their subscribers' quality of experience, operators can reduce churn, and offer additional services that improve their business model economics."
Fixed line operators in LATAM are facing unprecedented growth in broadband traffic volumes and are looking to add analytics that transform how they optimize their network infrastructure investments and expand their business models to add incremental revenue streams. The key to the realization of these operator's goals is to gather network intelligence. This intelligence not only enables operators to monitor bandwidth usage but also lets them see in real-time the characteristics of broadband traffic generated by their subscribers. Operators are then able to profile that usage in order to create profitable new differentiated services that benefit subscribers.
