Ready for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, Wunderman PXP developed responsive websites for the tourist communities of Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl high in the Austrian Alps. The sites www.soelden.com and www.obergurgl.com celebrate these premier destinations, which also serve as the U.S. ski team’s official European home base.
"With these new responsive websites, we‘re providing our digital offers to our guests in an easy and uncomplicated manner for all types of equipment and screens, ranging from a mobile phone, tablet, desktop, TV or Xbox,” said Oliver Schwarz, chief executive of Ötztal Tourism. "Our website presents itself in such a way that it is always uncomplicated and user-friendly.”
The sites were developed for Ötztal Tourism, the regional board promoting sport and leisure in the Tyrolean valley. The websites account for 70% of tourist bookings and receive a million visits per month.
Vienna-based Wunderman PXP created a new UX and redesigned the sites to serve as an image carrier, marketing tool and booking platform. The two sites were conceived and developed over a year by a team of 15 creative thinkers, information architects, developers and project managers, all experts from Wunderman PXP.
The result is consumer-focused websites that provide maximum interaction: information on weather, ski slope conditions, lifts and events. The websites offer the possibility of booking their entire holiday online in an easy and uncomplicated way.
Thanks to improvements in design and functionality, Sölden has tripled mobile hits from 11% to approximately 31%.

Since 2003, Wunderman PXP has been in charge of the online presence of the Tyrolean winter sports region. This project marks the fourth website relaunch implemented by them.
