SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 12/06/13 -- Adconion Direct (http://www.adconiondirect.com), an industry leader in cross channel digital advertising spanning display, video, mobile, email and social media, gathered today in support of HomeAid San Diego to provide housing for local homeless women. HomeAid San Diego fights homelessness by uniting people and organizing resources within the building and real estate industries to build and maintain housing for homeless individuals and families in San Diego.
Over 100 Adconion Direct employees are spending the day volunteering side-by-side at the Alpha Project's Alpha House location painting interior and exterior areas, replacing hardware, and landscaping the lot. Additionally, Adconion Direct contributed materials towards the top-to-bottom rehabilitation project that will also include kitchen and bathroom upgrades and new appliances. The volunteer day is part of HomeAid San Diego's annual Cares Day project aimed at connecting its service provider partners with willing volunteers and, once completed, the 115 year old Logan Heights community site will house eight women at a time with on-site case management to assist tenants in gaining independence.
"Adconion Direct is committed to giving back to the community," said Adconion Direct CEO Kim Reed Perell. "We are incredibly proud to support such a worthy and inspirational project. HomeAid's Cares Days are a testament to the power of what can be accomplished when the community and local businesses work together to do something great."
Managed by Alpha Project, a service provider for homeless and special needs San Diegans, renovations will prepare Alpha House to transfer from a men's transitional housing facility to serve women in January 2014, filling the need for more home-like facilities rather than temporary shelters for women. HomeAid San Diego product partners include: Pacific Shores Development, BEHR Paint, General Electric Appliances, Schlage Hardware and Home Depot.
"A key value of HomeAid San Diego is that we are able to engage a cross-section of partners in a collaborative effort to advocate for the homeless," said Alexis Parker, HomeAid San Diego Executive Director. "Companies like Adconion Direct make this possible by donating time and resources to help us achieve the common goal of positively impacting our local homeless community."
HomeAid San Diego brings together builders, community leaders, corporations, trade partners, donors, volunteers, material suppliers, community businesses, and nonprofit service providers to build and maintain housing projects. To date the organization completed 15 projects with a combined project value of $18.6 million.
Adconion Direct's involvement in the local organization builds on the company's core values of corporate responsibility and community outreach. Each quarter, Adconion Direct chooses a local organization to support. To date, in addition to other charitable efforts nationwide, the company has also partnered locally with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, San Diego Habitat for Humanity's Building for the Brave, San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy, Feeding America, Milestone House, Goodwill, New Life Headstart and Father Joe's Villages.
