Craig Searle, a 10-year information security industry veteran, has been appointed cybersecurity lead for the Asia-Pacific region at BAE Systems Detica as the business aims to grow its presence in Asia and Australia.
He will oversee the cybersecurity business and work to increase revenue in the telecommunications, critical infrastructure and finance markets, BAE said.
"Appointing Craig as head of cyber security helps us to continue to help our clients with the asymmetric threat posed by cyber criminals," said Richard Watson, managing director for Asia Pacific at BAE Systems Detica.
Searle most recently served as Detica's operations director and led efforts to manage daily business operations for governance, infrastructure security, security architecture, vulnerability assessment, security incidents, security strategy and policy and penetration testing.
He worked for Stratsec before BAE Systems bought the company in 2010 and provided information technology security advice to the enterprise and government sectors.
