Blast Radius Joins Two Sessions at International CES 2014

Cameron Friedlander and Shawn Fenton of Blast Radius have been selected to speak on panels at International CES, the Consumer Electronics Association’s annual expo and conference. They will both be speaking under the “Smart Phones and Tablets Conference Track” about marketing and advertising.

“CES has been the stage on which some of the world’s most impactful innovations have been unveiled to consumers, so it’s an honor to have Blast Radius join the conference agenda,” said Sam Landers, president of Wunderman Brand Experience, the global agency’s division that includes Blast Radius (Designkitchen).

Friedlander, executive director, creative technology, North America, will join a panel discussion on the radical transformation in how people consume content, and the impact it’s having on advertising.

“There’s a demographic contradiction at play: A lot of CES is targeted at high resolution large screen devices, but millennials prefer smaller, more private devices for video consumption,” Friedlander said. “How, then, do we go about creating content and delivering it across the device ecosystem? This creates points of contention within the panel discussion itself.”

Tablets: The Premium Advertising Platform

Fenton, an invention strategist with Blast Radius Chicago, will be part of a panel devoted to tablet-based advertising.

“We are seeing a shift from the traditional highly premium but risky long form to more short form ads that disrupt quickly but don't impede a user’s experience,” Fenton said. “The tablet and smartphone have been a catalyst for these changes and should create a lively discussion around new advertising strategies.”
