SpinGo, a startup that provides entertainment and local event information to the public through media and app partnerships, today launched a mobile event engine for 611 local event apps on iOS, Android and mobile browsers. SpinGo has partners in all 50 states, including The New York Daily News, Chicago Daily Herald, San Diego Union-Tribune and Marquee Magazine. The new mobile experience delivers hyper-local content gathered from 100,000 unique sources serving 1.6 million live events, all of which are human-verified to ensure that each event has the most accurate information for event time, location, venue, performers, description and admission.
"SpinGo is the world's most robust event platform," said Kreg Peeler, founder and CEO at SpinGo. "Event goers deserve something better than garbage, erroneous content. They deserve accurate insight on what's happening around them. SpinGo knows more about what's happening when, than anyone else. Today we enable our tens of millions of users to explore our event knowledgebase via an exceptional mobile experience."
The strength of the SpinGo platform comes from its content customizability. SpinGo has developed smart tagging and filtering systems that allow media companies, app developers, and end users to display and view only the events that are relevant to them. Also, event submission is free, and all events are human-verified before being added to the database. Each outlet provides events for--and by--its local audience.
"SpinGo is more than just an event calendar--it's an event engine," Peeler added. "As we gather, tag and add human intelligence to our content, we're able to syndicate that event knowledge in real time via our partner websites and mobile apps. With the help of our partner network, SpinGo has made event content management much simpler and more rewarding for performers, artists and event promoters."
SpinGo was founded in January 2012 by Kreg and Amanda Peeler as a localized event platform in select states. By October of that year, SpinGo introduced its national event database. Over the following months, SpinGo products were sold and implemented in all 50 states by more than 600 media sites and apps, garnering traffic from tens of millions of monthly users. Investors include Rick Alden of Skullcandy, Alan Hall of Mercato Partners, Josh James of Domo, Todd Pedersen of Vivint and Greg Warnock of Mercato Partners.
