Cobalt Data Centers Strengthens Its Leadership Team With The Hire Of Thomas Stimmel As Vice President Of Operations

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cobalt Data Centers – a multi-tenant data center operator that provides customers a unique blend of secure, high‐density, network‐rich colocation and high-touch customer service - has hired Thomas Stimmel as Vice President of Operations.  Stimmel has an extensive background in data center management as well as many years of executive leadership experience.

"This is a big win for Cobalt Data Centers.  Tom is the perfect addition to our leadership team.  He has the can-do, customer-focused attitude that distinguishes Cobalt from other colocation providers and his deep operational knowledge further elevates our ability to satisfy mission-critical computing deployments," states Jeff Brown, President of Cobalt Data Centers.  Stimmel has more than 10 years of data center experience and previously worked at CoreLink Data Centers as Vice President of Operations, where he led an enormous project to integrate and re-brand all of the colocation properties under a common operational standard.  He also established a comprehensive change management discipline and several continuing education programs.  In addition, Stimmels' career includes leadership roles at MCI, Qwest, WorldCom, and the U.S. Navy.

"This is an exciting time to be a part of Cobalt.  The demand for differentiated colocation continues to swell, particularly here in Las Vegas, and Cobalt has clearly raised the bar on customer service and experience.   I'm joining this veteran team in the early stages which allows me to establish operational excellence from the very beginning," states Stimmel.  Cobalt Data Centers opened its flagship facility, Cobalt Cheyenne, in northwest Las Vegas in February 2013.
