Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Star2Star Gives TAPI Dialer Back to Open Source Community

SARASOTA, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/25/06 -- Star2Star Communications, maker of the world's most reliable business grade Internet phone solution, is offering its TAPI Dialer that works for general Asterisk installations back into the open source community. TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) is used for connecting telephone services to a computer running Windows. TAPI was introduced in 1993 as the result of joint development by Microsoft and Intel.

This TAPI Dialer software from Star2Star integrates with Astrerisk installations so users can now dial a contact automatically via a "click to call" button. Because this is a TAPI Dialer any Windows TAPI Dialer-based product will integrate, such as ACT and Outlook.

CTO and President of Star2Star, Joe Rhem, states, "Star2Star was founded by Asterisk enthusiasts and remains dedicated to sponsoring the creation of next-generation Asterisk-based applications that extend the marketplace and add value to the Asterisk Platform."

In addition Star2Star is a sponsor at Astricon, the official Asterisk user and developer's conference. The 3rd annual Astricon Conference is being held in Dallas, Texas from October 24 through October 27 at the Dallas Westin Park Central hotel. Not only have 3 Star2Star executives been selected to speak at Astricon but Star2Star is also a sponsor of an Asterisk Development Playground debuting at Astricon. The Asterisk Development Playground includes StarBox-X (a complete embedded systems Asterisk-based PBX), plus a framework that extends Asterisk in all sorts of interesting ways. The Development Playground also includes free hosted database access, a free SIP account, plus a web-based community for sharing and spreading great ideas about Asterisk-based applications. The StarBox alone typically retails for over $1,000 but, to support the development of next-generation Asterisk-based applications (and crazy experiments), Star2Star offers the complete Development Playground, including StarBox-X, for $50 to registered Astricon attendees.

For more information about the TAPI Dialer for Asterisk installations or for the Development Playground stop by the Star2Star booth (#117) at Astricon or go online to www.star2star.com or call 1.941.234.0001.
