CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - December 18, 2013) - MCPc, a leading technology consultancy and integrator, today announced the addition of a new speaker, Howard Charney, to its already extensive slate of speakers at its 2014 kick-off event, Game Changers. Charney, senior vice president in Cisco's office of the president and executive staff, will contribute to the Game Changers event alongside other giants in the technology industry.
MCPc will be hosting Game Changers at the historic Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday, January 9
Howard Charney, known as "The Godfather of Ethernet," has worked for more than 30 years in Silicon Valley in a variety of roles, notably being responsible for turning Fast Ethernet and low-cost switching into fundamental, global Internet technologies. Charney was founder of Grand Junction Networks (later acquired by Cisco for more than US$2.4 billion), and co-founder of 3Com, the progenitor of Ethernet and local area networking. Technologies spearheaded by Charney enabled Internet access to the desktop.
"We are thrilled to have a speaker of Howard's caliber on stage with us," said Jed Ayres, senior vice president of marketing and partner management at MCPc. "He's one of those legendary figures in technology that you wait for years to hear speak. His insights on the landscape of technology and the trajectory of how we communicate with one another are unequaled," Ayres continued.
These speakers will be available at Game Changers for registered guests in a Speaker Series outlining the path of where technology is heading. Game Changers will be hosted by Doug Keeley, inspirational speaker and leadership guru. The Speaker Series includes:
- Howard Charney, Senior Vice President, Cisco Systems
- Tom Mendoza, Vice Chairman, NetApp
