NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Mayer announced today the addition of Michelle Edelman, who will lead the firm's strategy and planning team as Vice President, Strategy and Planning. Edelman brings a strong background in unearthing and leveraging the cultural capital of brands. Her leadership in the strategic discipline will be a driving force in growing Peter Mayer's strategy team.

Edelman's work has pushed the boundaries for many well-known brands. Her thought leadership on Dove's Real Beauty campaign elevated the brand as a contemporary icon for beauty. Her experience also includes guiding strategic direction for brands such as Huggies, Allstate, Quiznos, Motorola, EarthLink, DIRECTV, Sun Microsystems and the San Diego Visitors & Convention Bureau. She is a frequent speaker and award show judge, and has co-edited two marketing books on the baby boomer generation.
Most recently, she was president and director of communications planning at NYCA, a boutique firm in San Diego. Prior to that, she served as managing partner, director of planning and brand stewardship at Ogilvy & Mather in Chicago and, prior to that, was SVP/chief planning officer at Leo Burnett USA.
