Prime Urgent Care Announces New Urgent Care Services in Pearland, Texas

Urgent Care Services Expanded to Serve Community Better

PEARLAND, Texas, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Prime Urgent Care is pleased to announce their new urgent care services in Pearland, Texas. While technically an urgent care facility, they also offer non-urgent services such as sports physicals and drug testing. They have most recently begun offering IV fluids to those 18 and older, a service available at many Prime Urgent Care facilities.

IV fluids can be very important to those who live in the Texas heat and extreme humidity. These fluids can help treat the dehydration that can be caused by excessive sweating, exercising during hot or humid weather, vomiting or diarrhea, fever, increased urination (as sometimes seen in the beginning stages of diabetes), and certain medications (such as diuretics and some antidepressants). Consuming alcohol can also lead to dehydration, particularly for people who are already at risk.

Many cases of dehydration are mild, but extreme cases necessitate urgent medical and can cause low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, delirium, and unconsciousness. If medical help is not sought, dehydration can progress in seriousness leading to sometimes fatal consequences. Prime Urgent Care can help treat these symptoms as well as many others.

The additional services offered by Prime Urgent Care include: treatment of lacerations; treatment or splinting for strains, sprains, and fractures; treatment of injuries sustained in minor car or bike accidents; treatment of minor wounds, abrasions, and burns; treatment of colds, flus, and vomiting; treatment of ear and sinus infections; treatment for allergies and asthma; and treatment of bronchitis and pneumonia. Lab work, X-rays, and EKG tests can also be performed onsite.

Prime Urgent Care also offers non-urgent services including: sports, camp, DOT, and pre-employment physicals; breath alcohol testing; and hair and urine collections.
