We are pleased to announce the first edition of the FIPCOM Fujairah Photojournalism International Contest.
More than just a competition, FIPCOM aims to help promote the cultural focus of Emirate of Fujairah cultural center (FCMA) at an international level and to motivate and honour photojournalists who take extreme risks to provide true images of current events to the public.
AFP-Services contributes to this aspiring project alongside partners such as the AFP, National Geographic, i-Télé, Nikon, Les Docks - Cité de la Mode et du Design, JC Decaux and Picto.
We hereby invite all photojournalists to sign up and send us their pictures at http://www.fipcom.net until January, 31st 2014.
The contest is structured around five categories: news, environment, sport, economy, feature ( Series of 5 pictures)
The winner, selected by a prestigious jury will be awarded the first FIPCOM trophy as well as prize money of 10.000 euros during the awards ceremony, which will be held on March, 13 2014.
The winner in each category will be awarded a medal and a Nikon D800 camera.
Les Docks - Cité de la Mode et du Design will also open its doors to all the winners of the FIPCOM contest.
For the first edition, all laureates will exhibited in the fantastic setting of Les Docks - Cité de la Mode et du Design, an open stage for creation, dedicated towards cultural innovation. Les Docks - Cité de la Mode et du Design offers its guests an incredible and original exposure from the stairways to the rootop, casting a new light on the images.
