ST. LOUIS, Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CheckESNFree.com, the US and Canada's largest, fastest, and most reliable ESN, MEID, and IMEI check service, is pleased to announce that it provides a range of services to help prevent cell phone fraud. Examples of the tools available include limited free ESN checks and access to the new US and Canadian IMEI Blacklist. This updated database now even shows whether a T-Mobile device has been blocked or has EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) status. A SMS ESN check, Motorola Warranty check, and an ESNconverter add to the mix.
"We are continuously striving to develop new and meaningful service agreements with the biggest sources, such as Verizon or Sprint," says a company representative. "Our aim is to provide full protection for the individual or business consumer when buying or selling used cellular telephones." By using key sources, such as the National Crime Information Center, which oversees a database utilized by law enforcement organizations nationwide to report lost and stolen electronics, CheckESNFree increases the odds of recovering a missing device and helps protect buyers from purchasing a stolen phone.
CheckESNFree.com visitors receive up to 30 free ESN checks per day. Knowing the ESN, IMEI (international mobile equipment identifier) or MEID number and the cell phone provider is essential when determining a device's validity. This number stays in the phone regardless of the SIM card being used. The free Multichecker allows checking up to six devices at once including phones from Verizon, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile USA, Telus, and Tracfone, among others. A paid subscription gives access to the MassESNChecker and Mass Converter, while the free ESNconverter changes the format to HEX (hexadecimal) or DEC (decimal).
The SMS ESN check (limited to ten/day), a Text Message Server, uses a regular mobile number. The SMS is sent using a specified format detailed on CheckESNFree.com under the list of services link. The reply SMS will show the mobile carrier, ESN, and additional information available for that device such as status and make/model.
The website also lets visitors save ESN check results as a PDF document which can be shared when creating listings on EBAY or Craigslist. A special ID is attached to that device and can be validated at www.CheckESNFree.com/verify.
API access is available to businesses looking to integrate services provided by CheckESNFree.com into their own software or portal to help speed up the process of adding devices to their inventory, or checking devices prior to selling them.
