GLEN MILLS, Pa., Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Unequal® Technologies, the leading provider of personalized, concealed sports protection, announced today that the Unequal HALO™, supplemental head protection specifically designed for use in baseball hats, is now available at T&B Sports. Unequal protection is already trusted by professional athletes in the MLB, NFL, NHL and X Games, as well as at colleges, universities and youth leagues across the country.
Stephanie Camara, T&B Sports manager, said, "We believe that while no safety gear is infallible, the Unequal HALO offers baseball players the best supplemental head protection currently available. The HALO is lightweight and comfortable, and it provides excellent protection when added to a player's hat."
The HALO is one of a suite of supplemental head padding products manufactured by Unequal using a patented military-grade composite fortified with Kevlar® and Acceleron™. Easily placed into baseball hats, the HALO uses ART™ (Acceleration Reduction Technology) to help reduce acceleration upon impact.
Gunnar Sandberg, who took a line drive to the head in 2010, attended the sixth annual T&B Sports youth league sign-up event Jan. 4, 2014, to talk to parents and players about the importance of Unequal's protective products. He said, "Unequal is the real deal. I think if I had had Unequal, it would have saved what I went through. Lots of companies have tried to make things like this but always had something missing. But not Unequal; it can make the game safer."
"Partnering with T&B Sports is an important step for Unequal as we expand our distribution of protective products for athletes of all ages," said Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies. "We believe that anytime you're on the diamond, you should be protected and comfortable. The more that baseball teams and organizations adopt the HALO, the more parents, coaches and players can enjoy the game with greater peace of mind."
The Unequal HALO is available at T&B locations in Santa Rosa and San Rafael, Calif.
Unequal also manufactures other protective sports gear for the head, body and custom use. To learn more about Unequal products or Unequal Technologies, visit unequal.com.

Remember, head and body protection are the second line of defense. Being careful and responsible is the first priority. Helmet and body pads do have limitations. No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports. Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact-absorption tests relate to concussions. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact-absorption tests. Unequal products are not bulletproof, bullet-resistant, stab-resistant or stab-proof. Obey the rules and code of conduct of each sport, game or activity. Use common sense and practice safe sports. Connected devices and the Internet of Things are getting significant momentum in 2014. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Hunter, Chief Scientist & Technology Evangelist at Greenwave Systems, examined three key elements that together will drive mass adoption of the IoT before the end of 2015. The first element is the recent advent of robust open source protocols (like AllJoyn and WebRTC) that facilitate M2M communication. The second is broad availability of flexible, cost-effective ...

When an enterprise builds a hybrid IaaS cloud connecting its data center to one or more public clouds, security is often a major topic along with the other challenges involved. Security is closely intertwined with the networking choices made for the hybrid cloud. Traditional networking approaches for building a hybrid cloud try to kludge together the enterprise infrastructure with the public cloud. Consequently this approach requires risky, deep "surgery" including changes to firewalls, subnets...

The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. With many IoT elements rooted in traditional IT components, Big Data and IoT isn’t just a play for enterprise. In fact, the IoT presents SMBs with the prospect of launching entirely new activities and exploring innovative areas. CompTIA research identifies several areas where IoT is expected to have the greatest impac...

Over the years, a variety of methodologies have emerged in order to overcome the challenges related to project constraints. The successful use of each methodology seems highly context-dependent. However, communication seems to be the common denominator of the many challenges that project management methodologies intend to resolve. In this respect, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be viewed as powerful tools for managing projects. Few research papers have focused on the way...

As the world moves from DevOps to NoOps, application deployment to the cloud ought to become a lot simpler. However, applications have been architected with a much tighter coupling than it needs to be which makes deployment in different environments and migration between them harder. The microservices architecture, which is the basis of many new age distributed systems such as OpenStack, Netflix and so on is at the heart of CloudFoundry – a complete developer-oriented Platform as a Service (PaaS...

You use an agile process; your goal is to make your organization more agile. But what about your data infrastructure? The truth is, today's databases are anything but agile - they are effectively static repositories that are cumbersome to work with, difficult to change, and cannot keep pace with application demands. Performance suffers as a result, and it takes far longer than it should to deliver new features and capabilities needed to make your organization competitive. As your application an...
