Joomag celebrates 100,000 publishers onboard

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Joomag appeared on the digital publishing scene in 2009, offering their services to publishers looking to create online magazines. The term 'publishers' is used broadly here, as Joomag emphasizes their usability to the most modest of users, and truly anybody can successfully make the most of Joomag's impressive array of services. In a nutshell, Joomag allows users to create digital magazines, either from PDFs or, rather uniquely in this market, by using Joomag's own online magazine creation software.

The most significant characteristic of Joomag's magazines is their interaction and reader engagement. As opposed to simply flicking through the pages of a traditional magazine, Joomag has revolutionized the world of the online magazine by significantly enhancing the reader's experience. By facilitating publishers to create their magazines with multimedia links, these magazines are somehow read with an extra dimension. Furthermore, they allow very easy access to statistics and subscription management in a way that publishers would only have dreamed of as recently as last decade.

The company expanded rapidly, but is now growing faster than ever before. Through perfecting their services to a tee, the company had 10,000 publishers by 2012. This soon doubled, and made its way up to 50,000 by midway through 2013. Now, at the start of 2014, Joomag has reached 100,000 publishers, and have no plans of slowing down yet. These publishers vary from small, local publications, such as start-ups and small businesses, to large enterprises, as well as governmental and educational institutions, including the US Army, Stanford University, PwC, Subaru and Google.

It can only be assumed that the most fundamental key to Joomag's substantial development is a highly reliable and sought after range of services. However, it would be foolish to think that these elements alone are enough to guarantee success in this digital climate. Joomag suggests that the key to their success has been consistently listening to, and incorporating, customer feedback, and wasting no time in enacting their decisions.

So what has been the build up to such a relevant milestone? Well, as recently as December, Joomag incorporated two new major features. First of all, they introduced Vimeo to their platform. This means that publishers can simply embed a Vimeo URL into their publication and have it play at the reader's will. The team also vastly improved their online editor. The improvements made particularly enhance ease of use for publishers, and essentially allow for users to be more creative in their publications. This was so effective that it got rid of any confusing complications that could have previously been a hindrance. The great thing about the new editor is that it is now very easy to use on small screens, which opens it up to a whole new market: commuters.

So for anyone who is unfamiliar with the publishing options that Joomag provides, essentially you can completely start from scratch, as a 'publisher', regardless of your previous experience, if any. First of all, you can create content through the website using their online editor, or even just develop a PDF that you have already created. Now, the next step is the distribution! Joomag distributes these interactive magazines to all digital devices and social networks and will track their performance. These analyses provide advanced analytics of user behavior, which are a priceless research tool for your business. Furthermore, Joomag's content monetization grants you the possibility to sell your digital magazine through the website at a price of your choice. Another unique feature within this market is the publisher's ability to sell hard copies as well as their digital magazines.

Joomag provide an API (application programming interface) to their publishers allowing them to remotely create publications, without a need to use the Joomag interface, which can be directly embedded into their website. Subaru have successfully incorporated this feature, which is beautifully blended into the site for their product brochures and manuals. They also give live digital support to all of their publishers to help them with such things if they require.

Aside from providing online publishing tools for businesses, Joomag has proved highly successful with academic institutions, and a valuable asset within education. Currently, more than 130 educational organizations make use of Joomag for various purposes, such as student assignments and coursework, educational papers, admission papers and departmental/institutional newsletters. As the world of education is developing digitally in the same way that so many of our daily tasks are, it is refreshing to see a relatively new company making the most of their own services and being able to offer them for educational purposes.

It is clear to see that Joomag has become the home of the digital magazine, and have created a solid foundation for themselves in their first few years in business. They have renovated online publishing by allowing users to create interactive magazines, finally providing an excellent reason to read digitally as opposed to with paper. We are very keen to track Joomag's progress in the coming years, and it is more than obvious that their growth is accelerating rapidly.

Congratulations Joomag!
