naviHealth today announced the addition of Mark Tulloch as the company’s chief operating officer (COO). In his role, Tulloch will lead all of naviHealth's operations, including its centralized and market-based operations across the country.
“We are thrilled to bring Mark aboard as our operations leader,” said Clay Richards, naviHealth chief executive officer and president. “He adds the ideal skill set of both payor and provider executive operations experience. Mark's addition will further accelerate our ability to scale rapidly and execute on the growing demand for our market leading post-acute services.”
Prior to joining naviHealth, Tulloch served as COO of HealthSpring Inc., one of the country’s largest Medicare Advantage Plans. While at HealthSpring, his accomplishments included implementing the rollout of the company’s national Medicare Part D product line, overseeing all centralized operations and leading HealthSpring’s numerous acquisition integration activities. Prior to joining HealthSpring, Tulloch served as a senior vice president for United Surgical Partners Inc. and as president and COO of OrthoLink, Inc.
naviHealth also announced today the addition of Ken Melkus to its Board of Directors. Melkus is a widely recognized leader in the healthcare industry and serves as an advisor to Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe (WCAS), naviHealth’s principal investor. Prior to joining WCAS, Melkus served as chairman and chief executive officer of HealthWise of America, a publicly traded managed care plan, until it was merged into UnitedHealth Group. Prior to assuming his position at HealthWise, Melkus served as president and chief operating officer of Surgical Care Affiliates, an operator of ambulatory surgery centers.
