The American Diabetes Association Launches Redesigned Website

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/13/14 -- The American Diabetes Association, the nation's leading voluntary health organization in the fight to Stop Diabetes®, is proud to announce the launch of its redesigned website, diabetes.org, the gateway for all Association information and activities. The site has been improved to place a greater focus on consumer needs and deliver on the Association's mission promise.

With nearly 26 million people living with diabetes in the U.S., and the annual cost of the disease estimated to be $245 billion, diabetes is taking a growing physical and economic toll on the country. To help in the fight to Stop Diabetes, diabetes.org serves as the premier website for information, tools and resources for people living with and those at risk for developing the disease, as well as family, friends and members of the diabetes community.

The all-new diabetes.org is much more user friendly, and includes a responsive design -- allowing for a consistent and enjoyable experience across all devices and screen sizes. New features include:

  • Improved navigation including a drop-down menu feature and expanded footer area to allow visitors to have a deeper look into the site's content pages.

  • A sharing tools section so users can easily share articles and program information with family and friends.

  • A refined utility bar features a navigation tool with quick links leading to the most popular areas on diabetes.org.

  • A "brand bar" located at the top of the site page. This key feature houses all of the Association's signature events and programs and will allow the visitor to quickly navigate to additional properties of the Association, including stopdiabetes.com, Tour de Cure® and Step Out®: Walk to Stop Diabetes®. It will soon be implemented on other Association websites as well.
