SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Jan. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Dr. Bradley Kurgis and his staff at Kurgis Dermatology continued their long-standing devotion to community service by volunteering with the Angel Tree Project, which is coordinated by the Salvation Army.
The Angel Tree Project is geared toward helping those in need during the holiday season by providing needy seniors and children with gifts. Over 750 seniors and children benefit from this project, one which Bradley Kurgis is very pleased to continue to support.
"It is a wonderful program, that my staff and I truly enjoy participating in. It is truly an amazing program," said Dr. Kurgis, dermatologist. "We are always so impressed by the Salvation Army and this Angel Tree Project that they have coordinated. We are obviously very happy to be a part of it. "
The Angel Tree Project donates gifts to those who are in need, and the gifts include toys, clothes and other items. According to Kurgis, it is not just the gifts that are important, it is what they represent as well.
"We view each gift as something that represents the care and support of another human being," said Kurgis. "The gift itself has value to the receiver, but it also sends a message that there are people out there who care, who are there to offer support during a time of need."
Dr. Kurgis and his staff are frequent contributors to community programs and events, having recently offered support or sponsorship to the Templeton Concert in the Park, the Templeton Haunted House, Bowl for Kids' Sake and Hats for Hope.
"It is important to us to support the community every chance we get," said Kurgis. "These programs are very deserving of support because they give something incredibly valuable to the community. We take great pride in knowing that we are able to support these programs in any way we are able, and we will continue to do so in the future."
