Niagara Thermal Products LLC Selected as Critical Supplier for Buffalo BioBlower Air Purification Systems

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Niagara Thermal Products is proud to announce that it has been selected by Buffalo BioBlower Technologies LLC ("B3") as the critical thermal component supplier in support of its SBIR Phase 2 award from the Army Corps of Engineers.  B3 has developed the only comprehensive air purification system that kills all biological contaminants and destroys VOCs and other chemical pollutants, allergens and organic particulates.  In independent testing sponsored by the Department of Defense, the system has demonstrated the ability to destroy 99.9999% of viruses, bacteria and spores (including the particularly hardy anthrax spore).  Offering simple, dependable protection, the system represents a major step forward from HEPA and other filter systems, with applications in military, health care and a broad range of commercial markets.

Niagara Thermal Products has worked with B3 since 2005 to design and manufacture a series of high performance vacuum-brazed heat exchangers used in the system to kill the airborne contaminants.  Under the new contract award, Niagara will be designing and manufacturing a large and intricate package of heat exchangers for the 5,000cfm system that B3 will be building for full-up validation testing beginning in Q2 2014.  "We are extremely pleased that we are able to continue to assist B3 in the development of this exciting and important improvement in critical air purification systems", said Robert Corvino, Vice President of Aerospace and Defense Systems for Niagara.
