WASHINGTON, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), a Senior Member on the House Appropriations Committee issued the following statement on today's announcement that Philadelphia will receive $5 million from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to support the city's Green City, Clean Waters plan. Fattah serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, which administers funding to the EPA:
"Today's announcement is wonderful news for the City of Philadelphia, which over the last two years has led the country in a landmark effort to transform how the city manages its water supply. Green City, Clean Waters is a national model for urban water management, and a historic partnership between federal and city counterparts.
