Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Synapsis Makes RoHS Compliance Easier With Enhanced IPC 1752 Functionality
Synapsis Makes RoHS Compliance Easier With Enhanced IPC 1752 Functionality

By: PR Newswire
Nov. 1, 2006 01:00 PM

SPRING HOUSE, Pa., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Synapsis Technology, Inc. today announced that its EMARS(TM) environmental compliance solution for RoHS, WEEE, and ELV, now includes enhanced functionality that fully automates the collection, management, and reporting of industry standard IPC 1752 material declaration forms. This new functionality enables companies to meet their environmental compliance requirements faster and more cost-effectively by automating routine and error-prone tasks associated with the IPC 1752 forms.

Environmental regulations such as EU RoHS, WEEE, ELV, China RoHS, Korea RoHS, and REACH require companies to track and report the material makeup of their products -- a difficult and complex task. Andrew M. Wertkin, Synapsis' Chief Software Architect said, "Manufacturers must now collect and organize enormous amounts of material content data from their suppliers. The IPC 1752 PDF forms established a standard data format, but managing the forms is generally a manual, time consuming process. EMARS now automates the processes of collecting, generating and populating these forms. And with built-in data validations, EMARS users can expect a ten-fold increase in efficiency around these processes."

Since its inception, EMARS has supported the IPC 1752 standard, the result of a strong, ongoing working relationship between Synapsis and the IPC association. The newly released functionality builds on this foundation. EMARS enables users to:

-- Import multiple IPC 1752 forms in a single step. Since the IPC 1752 form requires a separate form for every part, this feature greatly reduces data collection time and effort. -- Parse and validate data imported from IPC 1752 forms. EMARS automatically validates the content of the forms, checking the accuracy of critical fields such as substance weights and exemption codes. -- Generate product compliance status reports immediately. Imported supplier part data is automatically linked to the corresponding company part number. This information is immediately reflected in the compliance status reports of all company products that use that part. -- Generate multiple IPC 1752 requests for suppliers in a single step. EMARS users can generate and distribute a supplier request file consisting of multiple IPC 1752 forms, each pre-populated with supplier part number and other information, in less than three minutes. This makes it easier for suppliers to provide the required information. -- Generate a populated IPC 1752 form for a company product that accurately reports the aggregated material content of that product to the substance level. EMARS users can generate a complete, validated form for their customers in less than three minutes. -- Import or generate IPC 1752 forms in any of the six standard classes.

"There are no other environmental compliance tools that offer this level of advanced IPC 1752 functionality," said Lonnie Gillihan, president of Synapsis Technology. "This will help our EMARS customers maintain their lead in bringing environmentally friendly, high-quality products to market."

EMARS, Synapsis' Environmental Material Aggregation and Reporting System, and its Compliance Checker(TM) are patent-pending solutions that enable companies to comply with environmental regulations, such as RoHS, WEEE, and ELV, among others. EMARS enables manufacturers to track, manage, and report the material content and environmental compliance status of their products. EMARS reduces the cost of compliance and minimizes the risk of compliance failures.
