Mediware Information Systems, Inc., announces the launch of a free ICD-10 educational forum leading up to the implementation of the new codes Oct 1, 2014. The website (www.mediwarerehabforum.com) is designed to assist inpatient and outpatient rehab providers as they prepare for the next revision of the classification issued by the World Health Organization. In addition to the forum, Mediware has included an extensive seven-page readiness guide that includes everything from ICD history to checklists, tips and considerations as industry leaders move toward the transition date.
“After seeing the outpour of questions to our clinical team with G-code requirements in 2013, we wanted to develop a forum for the rehabilitation industry to collaborate in one place so everyone can benefit,” said Stuart Foster, GM, Mediware Rehabilitation and Respiratory Care division. “Mediware has been prepared for months, and many of our clients have already started the testing process. We know they depend on our clinical expertise, and this is another powerful tool we can provide so that when October 1 hits, they are more than prepared.”
The forum includes several categories, ranging from billing to reimbursement, to workflow and documentation. Contributors can ask questions, provide feedback on their process or include comments about their personal experiences. The site also includes relevant links to the CMS website and its ICD-10 resources.
Mediware offers a number of ICD-10 resources. In addition to the forum, the Company is hosting a four-part webinar series designed for Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation providers, featuring coding expert and ICD-10/PCS Trainer Paula Digby. Registration for the ICD-10 webinar series is limited to the first 500 people. Mediware clinical experts have also provided insight on ICD-10 on the Mediware rehabilitation blog.
