MSA Security Announces The Appointment Of Jessica A. Johnson To Board Of Directors

NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MSA Security Chairman George Harvey today announced that Jessica Johnson has been appointed to the MSA Board of Directors. As a member of the MSA Board, Ms. Johnson will advise on strategic planning and corporate guidance.

A well-respected security professional, Jessica Johnson is President and a Principal of Johnson Security Bureau, Inc., the oldest minority-owned security guard services company in the State of New York; where she oversees the daily operations and growth and profitability development of the business.

Ms. Johnson stepped into her role at Johnson Security after her father became ill in 2008.  Prior to joining her family's business, she held sales positions with International Business Machines and most recently with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals.

She has a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Market Research from the University of Georgia. In addition, Ms. Johnson has completed a number of professional and business development programs, including the inaugural class of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Initiative.  Recently, her firm was selected as one of the agencies to provide protection for Super Bowl XLVIII related events.

Johnson has been recognized with a number of business awards, including 2013 Black Enterprise Family Business of the Year Award Recipient; the Competitive Edge MBE Award of Excellence; New York City Women's Chamber of Commerce Woman of Excellence Award, and Network Journal Magazine 40 Under 40 Achievement Award.

She is also a member of the New York State Security Guard Advisory Council and the Business Initiative Corporation of New York and serves as an advisor to college students in her Brooklyn community.
