Sports and Marketing Class Put Together Event for Super Bowl

PASSAIC, N.J., Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Like many towns, the city of Passaic is having an event to promote itself for the Super Bowl.  Unlike many towns, Food & Football, Passaic's Official Tailgate Party, was conceptualized and put together not by the NFL, a corporation, or the city, but by the students of Passaic High School's Sports and Entertainment Marketing Class.


Food and Football will be held from 11am to 4pm Saturday, February 1 at Passaic High School Stadium.  The purpose of the event is to bring the community together to celebrate the town's food, cultural diversity, and recreation.

Activities will include food from different city vendors, pickup flag football games, visits from current and former NFL players, free prizes from the NY/NJ Redbulls and many others, games and an empanada eating contests. 

Special guests include respected sports agent DAVID SUGARMAN, who will participate in the opening ceremony along with sharing stories with the PHS Sports & Entertainment Marketing students about his career representing professional athletes. Mr. Sugarman is working with New York Based YOUTHFUL SAVINGS-a company dedicated to empowering the youth through financial education and entrepreneurship.
