Cerora to Present Top Line Clinical Results From Their "Near the Field" Concussion Technology at C4CT Concussion Summit at United Nations

New Data Gathered in Collaboration With Lehigh University Sports Medicine

BETHLEHEM, PA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/27/14 -- Surrounded by a United Nations assembly of leaders shaping the future of concussion research, Dr. Adam Simon, CEO of Cerora, Inc., a StartUp Health / GE Healthcare Entrepreneurship program and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania company, will present new top line results from their concussion collaboration with Lehigh University Sports Medicine utilizing the Company's "near the field" (SM) brain bio-sensor technology.

The result of extensive 22-month collaboration with Lehigh University Sports Medicine and its director, Mr. Jack Foley, the study addresses the detection and management of concussion in college varsity athletes. The data consists of multiple scans from over 20 concussed athletes as well as 20 case-matched non-injured teammates.

"Lehigh's Jack Foley and his team have done an exceptional job collecting longitudinal data -- typically sampling as few as 6 and as many as 10 time points -- during both the symptomatic and asymptomatic phases." commented Dr. Simon. "This extremely unique data set should enable us to design objective predictive models that will aid field clinicians and healthcare professionals in both 'diagnostic' and 'return to play' decisions when they deal with suspected concussions."

Objective data -- provided rapidly, near the athletic field -- would offer a considerable advantage over current assessments which are typically based solely on subjective clinical impressions.

Cerora's proprietary MindReader™ multi-biosensor brainwave sensing technology is designed to enable professionals to gather truly objective data, which, along with neurophysiological performance data, self-reporting of symptoms, and additional biosensor-based measures, can lead to far more accurate determinations.
