Latisys to Add High-Density Data Center Capacity in Suburban Chicago

Oak Brook Data Center Campus to Build Out 24,600 Square Feet of Raised Floor Featuring 3.6 Megawatts of Critical Power

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 01/29/14 -- Responding to increasing enterprise demand for its mission critical data center services outside downtown Chicago, Latisys, a leading provider of hybrid cloud hosting and data center solutions, today announced plans to build out an additional 24,600 square feet of high-density data center space at its Oak Brook, Illinois data center campus 30 miles west of downtown Chicago.

The new build out will create CHI-06 and will be part of Latisys' Chicago datacenter campus, a 148,000 square foot purpose-built Tier III facility. CHI-06 will open later this year and will feature 3.6 megawatts of critical power.

Latisys' Oak Brook data center campus serves as the Midwest hub of Latisys' unified and compliant national platform of high-density data centers -- which includes Denver as an ideal Disaster Recovery site and Southern California and Northern Virginia as gateways to Asia Pacific, Europe and South America. CHI-06 will be tied directly to existing fiber carriers in the buildings and monitored 24x7x365 by on-site NOC personnel and systems. Latisys engages external audit firms to perform annual assessments to support customers' diverse compliance requirements.
