DALLAS, Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Alerian announced that following the close of business on Friday, January 31, the Alerian Energy Infrastructure Index (CME: AMEI) will undergo a special rebalancing due to the spinoff of One Gas Inc. (NYSE: OGS) from ONEOK Inc. (NYSE: OKE).
Special rebalancings are triggered by corporate actions such as mergers, delistings, spinoffs, and bankruptcies. At the close of the transaction on January 31, 2014, ONEOK shareholders will retain their current shares and receive one share of ONE Gas stock for every four shares of ONEOK stock owned. ONEOK's share price will be adjusted to reflect the terms of the spinoff after market close on January 31, 2014.
The 30 constituents of the index will be rebalanced in accordance with the existing index methodology. Constituent additions to and deletions from the index do not reflect an opinion by Alerian on the investment merits of the respective securities.
