BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/31/14 -- Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology is pleased to announce that L-com Global Connectivity, a leading U.S. manufacturer and distributor of connectivity products, will be exhibiting Icron's USB 3.0 Spectra(TM) 3001-15 extender cable with ExtremeUSB® technology as part of their 2014 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition display, February 2nd through 6th in Orlando, Florida.
The Spectra 3001-15 is the industry's first rugged and robust low-cost 15-meter USB 3.0 extension cable that provides 5Gbps throughput and a full 5V, 900mA of power. The cable features locking connectors, an LED indicator at the device connection point for operating verification and is compatible with AIA USB3 Vision(TM) compliant devices.
Simplifying the installation process, the Spectra 3001-15 is bus powered and allows users to avoid the need for an additional power outlet to support USB 3.0 peripheral devices such as cameras and storage devices. The active copper cable is ideal for commercial and industrial applications such as machine vision, medical imaging and post-production editing.
"In addition to L-com's newly released USB3 locking vision cables, we are excited to offer Icron's new active fifteen meter USB 3.0 cable to support our customers' longer reach applications," said L-com Product Manager Manuel A. Martinez III.
"L-com is taking advantage of our new Spectra 3001-15 extension cable to not only address the growing machine vision market, but also critical applications in medical and military where the security of a locking connection is a necessity." said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron. "Additionally, Icron's ExtremeUSB feature set complements the cable's performance, ensuring it will work with all operating systems and does not require software drivers."
As with all Icron extension products, the Spectra 3001-15 cable comes with a two-year warranty and includes the ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers) and compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows® 8.
