Tryg, the second largest general insurer in the Nordic region, and Accenture (NYSE:ACN) have signed a five-year agreement under which Accenture will provide the insurer with application development and maintenance services. The agreement is designed to further optimize returns on Tryg’s IT investment and enhance customer service.
Accenture will manage and enhance all of Tryg’s existing non-core insurance applications, including finance and accounting, customer relationship management and web solutions, which support the insurer’s operations in Denmark and Norway. The initiative is part of Tryg’s broader strategic program designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.
“Business agility and profitable growth are more than ever based on organizations’ ability to generate value from their IT systems,” said Espen Opedal, Tryg’s Chief Information Officer. “To provide excellence in customer service while lowering costs in a rapidly changing business and technology environment, Tryg needs to ensure that its IT applications are not only exceptionally reliable, but also flexible and continuously improved. Accenture is a longstanding business partner for Tryg, and we rely on the company’s global experience with application development and maintenance and deep industry knowledge to help us generate more speed, value and quality, with less cost, complexity, and risk.”
“Tryg joins the group of international high performing financial institutions that have shown how it’s possible to increase the value and the flexibility of IT while lowering costs, using outsourcing as the change enabler,” said Bent Dalager, managing director for Accenture’s Financial Services group in the Nordics. “Innovative insurers like Tryg can lower their IT spend and increase value-generating activities, adapting their application landscape as business evolves. We are very pleased to have been selected by Tryg for this strategic initiative and we look forward to helping them further reduce costs while driving continuous innovation.”
